Azim Premji University (APU) is a private university located in Bengaluru.  Azim Premji University is funded by the Azim Premji Foundation and is set up as a fully philanthropic and not-for-profit entity, with a clear social purpose.  Azim Premji is the founder (and non-executive chairman) of IT giant Wipro. The university has 5 schools and a University-wide research center: School of Education, School of Development, School of Policy & Governance, School of Arts & Sciences, School of Continuing Education & Univ Resource Centre, and the Research Centre.

The 4-Year UG Programme has four components
1) Common Curriculum Specializations: The Common Curriculum brings all the students in the program together to study areas and themes that the university velievs are necessary to make learning effective, rich, and satisfying. 

Common Curriculum has 4 components - Foundations, Understanding India, Interdisciplinary studies, and Creative Expressions.

2) Disciplinary Major: Students can choose majors of study from a variety of disciplinary subjects. The courses in a major are divided into required ore courses and electives. Core courses include introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses specific to the discipline. Elective courses include courses from the disciplinary major or related disciplines that enhance the understanding of the student.

Note: The list above is indicative. Interdisciplinary study areas available for each cohort will be announced at the end of the second semester. 
 

3) Occupational Track: The occupational track requires students to opt for an interdisciplinary inor and is aimed to provide both conceptional understanding and the skills to prepare them for the world of work. Students have to opt one of the areas - Education / Media and Journalism / Data and Democracy / Sports
and Fitness / Climate Studies / Arts

4) Flexible credits: All students will have number of courses that they can opt for allowing them to craft their own educational experience.

The 4-Year UG dual degree program in Science and Education awards a B.Sc. B.Ed. degree. The components consist of Common Curriculum, Disciplinary courses (Life sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemistry, or Mathematics), and Courses in Education.

In Education, students would develop:
- Educational judgement through perspective courses
- Skills to teach effectively through courses in curriculum and pedagogy
- A thorough grounding in school practice.

Admission Cycles: Admissions open for Undergraduate Programme in two windows:
- Early Admissions (November - December)
- Regular Admissions (January - April)

Fees:
The fee (tuition & accommodation) is based on family income.

- Zero fee if family income < Rs.4 lacs/annum
- Rs.74,250 if family income between Rs.4-8 lacs/annum
- Rs.148,500 if family income between Rs.8-10 lacs/annum
- Rs.222,750 if family income between  Rs.10-15 lacs/annum
- Rs.297,000 if family income between  > Rs.15 lacs/annum
- The overall programme fees (including tuition and accommodation charges) for the 3-year degree is Rs.8,91,000
- The overall programme fees (including tuition and accommodation charges) for the 4?year degree is Rs.11,88,000
- Food expenses - Rs.5000-Rs.6000 per month

- Student may incur expenses up to Rs. 15,000/- approximately for the period of one year for books, field trips, and other academic expenses.
- For the B.Sc. B.Ed. Program all students will get a 100 % tuition fee waiver in the fourth year.
- There is no other fee or deposit charged for the library, laboratory, IT facilities, examinations, books, etc.
- Accommodation charges include charges for transport between the University and the accommodation, internet connectivity, other facilities provided at the accommodation.
- Accommodation and food facilities are provided only during the semester and will not be available during the breaks and vacations.
- Students are covered under the student insurance scheme at no additional cost.
